About Me

My name is Liam Gould, and I am currently a Junior in High school. Elevate Cents was initially launched while I was a sophomore at the Episcopal School of Dallas. I am a student-athlete who plays hockey, soccer, and tennis, and I am passionate about finance, economics, technology, and investing, as well as how they intertwine with one another. My passion for finance arose through my research on the stock market. I researched key financials and technicals to look for, as well as learning about value investing through the Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. Through this research, I have developed my own investing style which combines deep value investing principles with quantitative fundamentals and smart technical triggers.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to impact and improve long-term financial behavior and decision making in adulthood through early financial education. Through approaches such as research and hands-on teaching, we aim to bridge the gap between financial knowledge and real world, practical applications, cultivating a culture of financially responsible and independent adults.

We chose to begin this organization because of our interest in how people make financial decisions. By doing secondary research and interviewing experts, we aim to share information with the public on financial education. More specifically, our goal is to explore the following questions:

  • How does early financial education influence long-term financial behavior and decision-making in adulthood?

  • What are the most effective methods for teaching personal finance and financial literacy to teens and young adults to improve long term financial behavior and decisions in adulthood?

On our website, we plan to share our findings with the public as we explore these questions, and document our experiences with hands-on financial education.
